Born February 20,1920 Died January 30, 1994 This French author is perhaps most famous for his two works.....Planet of The Apes and The Bridge Over The River Kwai. Both were made into major blockbuster films. He is noted as giving the shortest acceptance speech in Academy Award history when he stepped to the microphone and merely said... "Merci."
